Staff training sample

Train on County work, not generic CMS screens.

The Option 1 proposal includes task-based administrator/editor training and documentation. Choose a job below, sign in to the employee demonstration, and the workspace opens at the correct starting area with the instructions kept beside the work.

Update office hours

Website Administrator or assigned Department Editor
  1. Open Content or My content and select the department page.
  2. Update Office hours, Public phone, Public email or Office location.
  3. Review the local public preview and choose Save draft or Publish now.

Add a new public document

Editor for the responsible office
  1. Open Documents and drag in one or several approved sample files, or use the file picker.
  2. Review the starting title, record type and document date; filenames supply suggestions, not authoritative metadata.
  3. Confirm the responsible office and Short public summary, then review the local preview.
  4. Save a draft or publish. The new record remains in Documents and Publishing when you switch modules.

  2. Choose or drop the replacement under Add or replace document file.
  3. Review the selected filename, local PDF preview, date and public summary.
  4. Save or publish. Reopen the record to confirm the replacement; the saved public path is unchanged.

  2. Update Public name, Role / title and the approved public contact details.

Publish an announcement or service update

Assigned Department Editor or Website Administrator
  1. Open Content or My content, choose the content type and click Create new content.
  2. Enter the title, summary and resident instructions or page content.
  3. Choose Save draft, Schedule with a future Central time, or Publish now.
  4. Find the new record in Publishing and reopen it; switching modules does not discard the draft.

Add County photography

Website Administrator or assigned Department Editor
  1. Open Media and choose or drop a sample JPG, PNG or WebP image.
  2. Confirm the title, responsible office and Usage / rights note.
  3. Enter Alternative text or mark the image decorative when appropriate.
  4. Save media metadata. Return from another module to confirm that the file and metadata are retained.

Correct a link

Editor for the owning service or page
  1. Open the service, department page or announcement in Content or My content.
  2. Edit Link label and Destination URL using an approved http/https address or local path.
  3. Review the actual link in the local public preview; it opens separately without losing the editor.
  4. Save or publish the correction. Invalid or executable destinations are rejected.
Practice this task →
09

Restore a revision

Authorized editor for the record
  1. Save or publish a record to create a session revision, make another change and save again.
  2. Open Publishing and locate the earlier saved snapshot in Revision history.
  3. Choose Restore as draft. The record reopens with the saved public path retained.
  4. Review before publishing again; restoration does not automatically republish an old revision.

Invite or offboard an editor

Website Administrator
  1. Open Users and enter a sample email, role and department scope to create a pending demo invitation.
  2. Switch modules and return to verify that the invitation remains; no email is sent.
  3. Deactivate an existing demo Department Editor, sign out and confirm that its login is denied.
  4. Sign in as Website Administrator and reactivate the account. The primary demo administrator cannot be disabled.

Role-aware training

Editors learn only the authority they have.

Department Editors practice their assigned content. Website Administrators practice County-wide publishing and user administration. Production identity, server-side authorization, storage and final County approval remain implementation work.
